Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited the area affected by the volcanic eruption in La Palma, Canary Islands, on Monday.
Footage shows Sanchez inspecting the emergency coordination unit and then as he visit some of the areas affected by the lava flow spewing from the volcano.
Evacuations began on Sunday before the eruption. Around 5,000 residents have been relocated from the area.
The last time the Canary Islands experienced a volcanic eruption was in 2011 on the island of El Hierro, south of La Palma, although the eruption happened underwater.
Clouds of volcanic ash have reportedly reached heights of approximately 3,000 metres (10,000 feet) according to the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC).
